Local Woman Learns the Hard Way; 2000 Meters on a Rowing Machine Can Simulate Drowning

During the late evening hours of Tuesday, August 28, local school teacher Whitley Loo succumbed to overwhelming pressure from her conscience to "exercise." Using the new "Concept 2" rowing machine her husband just purchased, Mrs. Loo proceeded to row 2000 meters, much to the distress of her cardiovascular and muscular systems which had been thought to be in hibernation.
"I....can't...really....breathe," Mrs. Loo was overheard saying, as her children tried desperately to fan her beet-red face.
"She seemed like a fish on land, unable to catch any air. Except that she is human, and was on land, with lots of air around her the whole time," mused a neighbor.
Mrs. Lee recovered after lying around for an hour while watching Cupcake Wars--a T.V. program recommended by her students because of her love for pastries and her couch. She plans to use more common sense next time she is around any rowing device: be it in or out of water.

Likewise, this is just a simple blog...designed to share writings and ideas between teacher and students.
This is where you will submit your stories, scenes, poems, etc. for grading. Also, it's where you'll come to read and comment on writings from other students in our class.
Since we'll be reading and offering suggestions and comments for one another, and since writing can be deeply personal and somewhat scary to present to others, some ground rules need to be agreed upon. Ideas from students are very welcomed!
Ground Rule #1: No anonymous posting. People need to be who they say they are.
Ground Rule #2: Be positive. Please make sure that every post contains at least one positive comment and a helpful one. We are in the business of "filling each others' buckets" here, not tearing people down.
Please offer any of your ideas for creating a safe, fun, helpful online environment for our class! I am so very excited for our forray into creative writing this year! :)
